NO, VDH does NOT require any external programs like (ffmpeg, etc). When I take my laptops to a regular router I get better results than running off the hotspots & NOT as many failures on the router system. I forgot to mention that my internet access is usually on 4 year old hotspots, Chrome Web Store Microsoft Edge Addons Firefox Browser ADD-ONS.

I found this thread today, b/c I’m trying to figure out what causes AGGREGATING to fail, It happens with ally types of videos, which is leading me to the conclusion that it could be VDH and possibly hardware b/c both laptops are 4 or 5 yrs old. This is a browser plugin for developers, cross-border workers, and research institutes to secure and speed Internet surfing.

I wait a few minutes & bring FF back up again and then the download works perfectly! When I’m able to reboot & not lose the graphics I’m working on in PSP (PaintShop Pro) the downloads also works then.

What helps somewhat is to use the Task Manager to crash FF so I get all the tabs I have open (w/o doing that seems that I lose a bunch of tabs) to show up when I start FF again. Sometimes I think it’s the hardware, but it’s intermittent. I recently started having intermittent problems with “ FAILED AGGREGATING” msgs on FF and Win10 with 2 different laptops I have. If you’re trying to join ts files, TS Splitter in the same site works aReader If you want to try others, here are 85 of them:Īgain, speparate programs usually work better than add ons. I don’t use VDH so can’t offern anything specific. Unless you’re good at editing profile files, reinstalling FF is the easiest way to fix it. If you play with lots of them, eventually there’s a good chance FF will break. One issue with add ons is they leave traces in firefox after removal. You really have to experiment to find which ones work today. I’ve had much better luck with standalone download managers, Internet Download Manager is an excellent one. These things work for a while, then don’t, then do. I still use it to capture streams six years later. There’s only one download add on I’ve ever used that works perfectly all the time and it was removed from Mozilla’s store because of that. Look in User>YourUserName>AppData>Roaming for something that looks like VDH, delete it and the add on, then reinstall the add on.

The feature is planned but it may take a while before it is implemented, and when it is, it is not clear if you are free to customize the count or if it will be linked to the screen resolution or browser window resolution instead. When you say aggregate, do you mean combine segments (ts’s) into a video? Does VDH require a program (ffmpeg, etc) to be installed to do the joining? It would have been noted the first time you attempted to download something. You can switch to the old download manager if you want or wait until Mozilla integrates the option to increase the number of downloads that are displayed in the panel in a future browser version. It is not clear why Mozilla did not add a preference or at least an about:config entry so that users can change the file limit of three downloads to another value that they prefer. While you can click on show all downloads to open the download history and display all files you have downloaded, it is not really comfortable to do. You can click on the icon to display downloads, but that display is limited to the last three files that you have downloaded to your system. Instead of being displayed in a window on the screen, they are now highlighted by a download panel that is displayed in the browser's toolbar by default. Mozilla switched how downloads are displayed in the Firefox browser in a recently released version of it.
